Jasmine, Ridhima tied for lead in 13th Leg of WPG Tour
Jasmine Shekar faltered in the second round but kept a share of the lead with the steady Ridhima Dilawari in the 13th Leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour here on Thursday.
While Jasmine shot 76, Ridhima carded 73 with a bogey and 17 pars here at the Golden Greens Golf Club.
They were 2-under 142 each and a shot clear of Sneha Singh (73-70) and Amandeep Drall (72-71) at 1-under 143.
Amateur Anvvi Dahhiya (73-71) and Order of Merit leader Hitaashee Bakshi (71-73) were tied for fifth place at even 144.
Jasmine, looking for her opening win after two runner-up finishes over the last 18 months, had just a birdie against three bogeys and a double bogey on the Par-4 sixth hole.
Ridhima did not find the birdies but did well to limit the bogeys to just one on the Par-4 17th.
While Jasmine is seeking to end her runs of near misses, Ridhima is seeking her maiden win since 2002, the year she won twice.

Telangana Golconda Masters championship: Ravi, Saarthak, Akshay share first round lead
Ravi Kumar, Saarthak Chibber and Akshay Neranjen shared the first-round lead with scores of seven-under-63 at the par-70 on an overcast day in the Telangana Golconda Masters golf championship at HGA Course in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Aryan Roopa Anand and Sachin Baisoya returned cards of six-under 64 to be tied for fourth.
Ravi, a 10th tee starter on day one, scored seven birdies and didn’t drop any shots thanks to his exceptional wedge-play.
The 24-year-old Saarthak too shot a bogey-free 63 to be co-leader. He never looked in any sort of trouble and sank his longest putt of the day, a 20-footer for birdie on the 15th, to make it a run of five consecutive birdies on the back-nine.
Akshay, also part of the three-way lead, mixed eight birdies with a bogey during his 63. Akshay enjoyed a fruitful day with the putter as he sank some long birdie putts including a 40-footer on the 13th. He also came up with some quality up and downs from rough and the bunker to keep the birdies coming.
TATA Steel PGTI Ranking leader Veer Ahlawat carded a 66 to be tied 11th.
Hyderabad-based professional Mohd Azhar (69) was the highest-placed among the local golfers as he was tied 48th.

Murugappa Gold Cup: IOC draws vs NCOE; Indian Railways beats Tamil Nadu 5-0
Having already qualified for the semifinals, Indian Oil Corporation and Indian Railways played out their respective last pool matches of the 95th MCC-Murugappa Gold Cup All-India hockey tournament here on Thursday in contrasting fashion.
With four of its key players suffering from viral fever, IOC wasn’t keen to push them, and it reflected in the way the team performed on the field. The former champion ensured it pulled off a 5-5 draw with NCOE, Bhopal in a Pool-B contest and remains the leader in its group.
Later, in a Pool-A match, the defending champion Indian Railways didn’t allow any such concessions to its opponent as it thrashed Tamil Nadu 5-0 to top the group.
Friday is a rest day.
The semifinals–Railways versus Odisha and IOC versus Army–will be held on Saturday.
The results:
Pool-A: Railways 5 (Pardeep Singh 7 & 15, Aditya Singh 10, Shivam Anan 39, Affan Yousuf 43) bt Tamil Nadu 0.
Pool-B: IOC 5 (Roshan Minz 8, Affan Yousuf 10, Talwinder Singh 29, Sumit Kumar 45, Manpreet 59) drew with NCOE (Bhopal) 5 (Sadiq Mohd. 16, Pawan Kumar Jaat 23 & 52, Faraz Md. 28, Parmod 43).
