Despite hanging up his racket, Andy Murray continues to make waves in the world of tennis. The 37-year-old sports icon, who retired after competing in the Paris Olympics in August, stunned the sporting community last month when he announced an astonishing comeback – this time as a coach for his former rival Novak Djokovic.

The duo, who together have won 145 singles titles, were once fierce adversaries on the court. Now, they are teaming up, with Murray joining Djokovic’s coaching squad ahead of the Australian Open in January.

Tennis fans are eagerly awaiting the partnership of these two giants in the new year. In retirement, Murray has been keeping busy, embarking on several new ventures that are boosting his wealth and spending more quality time with his wife Kim and their four children.

What is Andy Murray‘s new TV role?

Murray’s new coaching role isn’t his only recent venture post-retirement – he is also set to appear in an upcoming TV advert in Australia. As reported by The Herald Sun, the ex-tennis champion will play an action hero being chased through the streets of Melbourne in the commercial, which ends dramatically with him diving through a window in a Chinatown restaurant.

Earlier this month in Melbourne, Murray was seen in the midst of an advertisement shoot, complete with a staged facial cut and his signature Castore attire muddied up.

The tennis ace shared his excitement about the experience, stating: “I’m seeing a different Melbourne this time. I’ve not been around some of these parts before and it’s been good fun. It’s a big shoot. I’ve never done anything like this before because I never had the time. But it’s fun to do something like this.”

Additionally, the Scotsman has been honing his golf skills with aspirations of reaching a scratch handicap.

Holding a seven handicap currently, Murray made a memorable debut at the BMW PGA Championship’s Pro-Am in Wentworth earlier this year and even seized the win at the first BTJA Mike Dickson Golf Day held at Hertfordshire’s Hanbury Manor Golf Club.

Opening up about his pursuits on the green, he confessed the nerves involved in golf differ from tennis: “It’s a different sort of nerves, because you are comfortable in the sort of tennis environment. I’m not thinking I’m going to walk out on the tennis court and forget how to hit the ball. Whereas here, there’s people standing five metres away from where I’m driving, and I’m like, I’m useless at this game.

“You just want to try and keep the ball in play and don’t mess up too much. I’m obviously getting to practice a lot more than the average person. I obviously played a bit when I was younger, and if I can get the right sort of lessons and practise the right things, then yeah, I’ve got a chance of doing that.”

Andy Murray and Kim Sears’ split

Murray walked down the aisle with Kim Sears, daughter of the famed tennis coach Nigel Sears, in a picturesque 2015 ceremony.

The spark between them ignited at an upscale US Open event back in 2005, dating for nine years before tying the knot in Murray’s hometown of Dunblane.

Together, they’ve built a family, welcoming four children: Sophia, eight, Edie, six, Teddy, four, and three-year-old Lola.

Their journey hasn’t been without its trials, as the pair experienced a notable rough patch in 2009, leading to a temporary split. During this intermission, it was Kim who reportedly ‘won custody’ of their cherished canine, Maggie.

Yet the separation was short-lived—mere months before they found their way back to each other. During his time alone, Murray realised the value of partnership, confessing: “I work better in a relationship. At the end of the day, especially if I’ve lost a match, I don’t like talking about tennis, so it’s nice to have someone to talk to about other stuff.

Since mending fences, Murray and Sears have cemented their bond, with Andy often singing praises for his spouse across various media encounters.

In an interview with the New York Times, Andy Murray opened up about the unwavering support of his wife Kim Sears, despite her dislike for media attention. He said: “She doesn’t like being in the newspapers, and people commenting on what she’s wearing and how she looks, and those sorts of things. That’s one of the things that I guess she’s also sacrificed, a little bit, for our relationship, and I appreciate that a lot.”

“You’re in these huge cities meeting new people all the time and it would be easy to get your head turned. But Kim’s always been there for me. She really cares about me and helps with so many things. She always has. That’s why we have such a great relationship.”

Andy Murray‘s net worth

When questioned about Murray’s financial success, the answer is equally impressive. His stellar performance on-court has seen him secure over £50million just from prize winnings, owing to his 46 titles, which include two Wimbledon victories, three Olympic medals, and a US Open win.

Beyond the court, Murray’s wealth continues to grow thanks to partnerships with prestigious brands such as Castore, Under Armour, Jaguar, and Head. His portfolio boasts endorsements and collaborations with global corporations including Amazon Prime Video, Standard Life, and American Express, further padding his substantial earnings.

Murray has an estimated net worth of a staggering £85m, as per Celebrity Net Worth. However, some speculate that his wealth could be closer to the £100m mark.

A significant chunk of his fortune has been invested in property, including a £5m Surrey mansion and a luxury flat in Miami. Since 2013, he and his wife Kim have owned the five-star Cromlix House Hotel in Dunblane, which was the venue for their wedding in 2015.

The lavish hotel, set within 34 acres of private grounds and woodland, offers 10 bedrooms, five suites and a one-bedroom lodge. It also boasts its own private chapel, tennis court, pickleball court and a restaurant run by a top chef.

Originally a Victorian mansion, it underwent a full transformation when the Murrays took over. According to KAYAK, room rates typically range from £350 to £950 per night.
