Paes, who has been the honorary vice-president of the BTA for quite some time, accepted the proposal of the outgoing BTA president Hironmoy Chatterjee during a felicitation function here, vowing to take Bengal tennis to greater heights.
The program, titled ‘Grand Slam Salute To The Legend’, started with a minute’s silence for Paes’s father, Dr. Vece Paes, a 1972 Munich Olympics bronze medallist, who passed away last month.
