Nick Kyrgios makes brutal two-word comment about Jannik Sinner dating his ex

Nick Kyrgios made a dig at Jannik Sinner after being reminded of his former relationship with Anna Kalinskaya.

The WTA world No. 15 started dating Sinner earlier this year and has been seen in his box for his recent US Open matches.

On Saturday, Kyrgios replied to a photo of himself and Kalinskaya at an LA Lakers game in 2020 with a two-word comment.

Kyrgios has been very vocal since news broke that Sinner was found to have “bore no fault or negligence” for two anti-doping violations after testing positive for the banned substance clostebol twice in March. The world No. 1 immediately appealed both his provisional suspensions when three experts found his contamination explanation plausible.

It meant was allowed to keep playing until his hearing last month. The “no fault or negligence” ruling means Sinner did not face a ban. But the Australian called for him to face two years out of the game and has continued to take aim at his doping case.

Fans on social media have been speculating whether Kyrgios holds any bitterness because Sinner is dating his ex, Kalinskaya. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist addressed their past relationship on Saturday, replying to an old photo of them. “Second serve,” he wrote.

Kyrgios wasn’t tagged in the post and the tweet did not contain any text but he still managed to find the old snap. The user quickly deleted it but screenshots popped up all over social media and he faced backlash.

The former world No. 13 was quick to reply to the fallout. “Right… so I’m the one that’s the bad guy for saying something about it? I never brought it up lol,” he wrote, adding a laughing emoji. “don’t take offence if people are gonna bring it up. Simple.”

Sinner and Kalinskaya have not addressed the Russian tennis star’s history with Kyrgios since they got together. Rumours started swirling that Kyrgios and Kalinskaya were dating when they were spotted at the Staples Centre in early 2020.
