Italian Open organisers have been slammed after Casper Ruud and Jaume Munar had to wait all day for their match to be postponed.
They were on yesterday’s schedule until late last night, when their match was pushed back until today.
Coco Vandeweghe has reacted by labelling the handling of the situation as ‘absolutely disgraceful’.
“It should’ve been decided not only to get it to a different court but also to keep these men on schedule,” she told Tennis Channel.
“It’s what we talked about from the start. The fact they kept these men this late, this long, it is absolutely disgraceful.
“Not only for them to play to the best of their ability, but to be able to recover for the next round.”
