Two-time singles champion and local legend John Newcombe is here to present the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup.

Time for Zverev’s speech after he receives the runner-up trophy. A slight pause as even before he begins to speak, someone from the crowd starts heckling the German.
Zverev – “To be honest, I don’t want to be here, next to this trophy and not be able to lift it.”
“I’d like to thank my team. We’re trying to do all the right things… I am not just not good enough.”
Zverev congratulates Sinner – “Nobody deserves it more than you.”
Zverev concludes his speech – “I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to lift this trophy, but I’ll keep coming back to try. See you all next year.”

Sinner begins his speech by speaking a few words of encouragement for Zverev – “Don’t let your guard down Sascha, we all know how strong you are and that one day you will lift a trophy like this.”
To his team, Sinner says, ““It’s an amazing feeling to share this with you. It’s amazing to achieve these things, but more to share it with you guys..
“Maybe I can convince you (otherwise)…It’s your last Australian Open as a coach.. I am so happy to share this trophy with you (to his coach Darren Cahill who will leave his team at the end of the season).
