It wasn’t to be for Jack Draper in the US Open semi-final, as the Brit was beaten in straight sets by a defiant Jannik Sinner on Friday evening.
The pair played out a dramatic last-four clash, with Draper seen throwing up mid-match on more than one occasion, before cleaning it up with his own towel.
Sinner’s win earned him the right to face Taylor Fritz, after the 26-year-old came through an all-American semi-final against Frances Tiafoe.
Fritz had fallen behind in sets twice to his countryman but fought back both times, before eventually cruising to victory with a 6-1 win in the final set.
Sinner and Fritz will go head-to-head on Arthur Ashe tomorrow, but not before Aryna Sabalenka takes to the court for her US Open final against Jessica Pegula.
Sabalenka is in back-to-back US Open finals and she’ll be hoping history doesn’t repeat itself after losing last year’s showpiece to American Coco Gauff.
