Rybakina kicks off the action as the new favourite of the women’s title, after world no1 Iga Swiatek and no2 seed Coco Gauff were knocked out over the weekend. Champion in 2022, Rybakina is on the verge of reaching the quarters for the third time in a row but an in-form Anna Kalinskaya stands in her way.
Kalinskaya is enjoying the best Wimbledon of her career, and has not dropped a set in a run which includes a win over no15 seed Liudmila Samsonova. Russian Kalinskaya has faced Kazakh Rybakina three times, winning twice.
