Iga Swiatek overtook Coco Gauff to become World No. 2 in the latest WTA Rankings released on Tuesday, which will be used for the US Open 2025 draw.
Poland’s Swiatek gained one spot after beating Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in straight sets to clinch her maiden Cincinnati Open title on Monday.
The US Open draw will be revealed on Thursday with defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and 2022 winner Swiatek as the top two seeds. Gauff, who won the title in New York in 2023, will be the third seed while fellow American and last year’s runner-up Jessica Pegula will be the fourth seed.

In top 10, Paolini moved past Wimbledon runner-up Amanda Anisimova to take the number eight spot. However, with World No. 7 Qinwen Zheng set to miss the last Major of the season, Paolini will be seeded seventh.
Elsewhere, in the Top 100, Ekaterina Alexandrova (14th), Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (40th), USA’s Iva Jovic (76th), Japan’s Aoi Ito (82nd) and French woman Leolia Jeanjean (91st) achieved new career-high rankings.
