A helicopter has crashed in the Hudson River near Manhattan, the New York Police Department has said.
It is not yet known if there are any injuries or fatalities.
The crash took place in the river near the Holland tunnel, which links lower Manhattan with Jersey City to the west.
The fire department said it received a report of a helicopter in the water at 3.17pm local time (8.17pm UK time). It has units on the scene performing rescue operations, it added.
